Where are your positions geographically located?

The Katie Facey Agency has an established clientele across the United States. Though our base is in Greenwich, Connecticut, our satellite offices in Los Angeles, California and Naples, Florida, excellent reputation and referrals, enable us to represent candidates and clients in all regions of the United States.

What are the requirements to register with The Katie Facey Agency?

In general for any position, you must meet the following requirements:

  • A minimum of two years of professional domestic employment experience in your chosen field with stellar references.

    Exceptions to this requirement:

    * You are a nanny applicant who holds a Bachelors degree or Masters degree with a child-related major/minor
    * You are currently or have been a school teacher
    * You are applying to be a Mother's Helper

  •  Be a legal United States citizen or be legal to work in the United States with proof of documentation
  • You have a clear criminal history (including no alcohol related violations)
  •  Be a high school graduate or possess a GED
  •  Possess a strong work ethic and have excellent communication & organizational skills
  •  Possess the personal qualities of: honesty, responsibility and reliability

How can I work with your agency if I am not able to meet your minimum requirements for placement?

We do understand that everyone has to start somewhere. However, in order to be a registered candidate in our Registry, you must meet the above requirements. We do offer an option to professional childcare candidates who are not yet considered experienced candidates. We often place "Mother's Helpers" in homes with a stay-at-home parent or team of nannies who need an "extra set of hands" throughout their day. You will be a "nanny in-training," so to speak. Only upon completing two years as a Mother's Helper with the highest of recommendation, will you then be considered for a nanny position through our agency. This option enables you to gain the necessary experience our clients are seeking in prospective candidates. We would also suggest that if you are not open to a position as a Mother's Helper, you research and register with other reputable domestic placement agencies who do not request the same minimum requirements.  Upon completion of your three years of experience, we welcome you to re-apply for admission into our Registry.

If you are concerned about whether or not you have the level of experience we are looking for, call or E-mail us, don't make assumptions! Often prospective candidates assume they are lacking in a particular area and are pleasantly surprised when they call to find out they are more than qualified.

How long does it take to be placed once I've submitted my completed portfolio?

Upon receipt of your information, it could take anywhere from a couple of weeks to a few months to place you with an ideal family. We take into consideration your experience, desired position and geographic location. We do not send you out to every client; a custom search is conducted for your ideal position. Therefore, it is crucial that you register well in advance of your desired start date in order to receive an optimal number of prospective opportunities for consideration.

Can I register with The Katie Facey Agency if I'm already registered with other agencies?

Absolutely! The Katie Facey Agency does not ask prospective candidates to sign exclusivity agreements at any time, nor should any respectable agency who truly has the best interests of their candidates in mind. The goal of the agency is to assist a candidate in located their "ideal" position. Though we would love to place all candidates who are registered for placement with us, if an applicant's ideal situation comes up through another agency or contact, we are happy they have found a positive conclusion to their search and look forward to working with them again on future searches.

What are the salary ranges for your positions?

Salary range will depend on a number of factors not limited to but including:

  • Years of experience as a domestic professional
  • Educational background
  • Geographic location you are seeking employment
  • Number of children
  • Extent of benefits offered
  • Hours
  • Duties

Our candidate salaries do not depend on live-in or live-out scenarios. For our Professional Nanny and Governess positions, the salary range is $750.00-1,500.00 gross per week. For a Baby Nurse, rates run from $325.00-400.00 daily for a single baby and $450.00-550.00 daily for twins. For a full-time domestic staffing position, the annual salary range is $45,000-$180,000 gross.  The Katie Facey Agency only conducts searches with clients who are willing to accommodate a high quality professional and are able to meet these salary requirements.

We have a very detailed, efficient process for prospective placements. In order to be considered for a position with
The Katie Facey Agency, you must complete the following first step:

1.     Complete our inquiry form by clicking here

2.     Upon receipt and review of your information, our Director of Placement and staff will contact you directly by telephone if you meet our minimum requirements.
We will arrange to send you our prospective candidate orientation packet that includes our application. Upon your completion, submit paperwork via facsimile or regular mail for processing. Once we receive this, a member of our placement team will again contact you to go over your information and discuss how to proceed with your search.
